I find the birds of Australia are among the most interesting in the world. Their unique forms and vibrant colours are perfect models for any form of art.

I have been drawing and painting birds from my local area - South Eastern Australia - since the early 1990s. I choose subjects I see around me and work in watercolour, pencil, and gouache. I have studied science, ecology, and biology at the Australian National University and the Canberra University. I have studied life drawing, landscape, and watercolour painting at the Canberra Institute of the Arts.
