Katrine Scott-FindlayBiographyKatrine Scott-Findlay has been resident in Canberra since early 1955. Katrine's mother and grandfather were passionate gardeners who instilled in her a life long love of gardening and botany. This no doubt set the foundations for this marvelous occupation, Botanical Watercolour illustration. Katrine came to botanical illustration quite by accident following a long and successful midwifery and nursing career. She was introduced to botanical illustration form when she attended an introductory course with Helen Fitzgerald in late 1999. An early retirement has provided the perfect opportunity to develop her passion for botanical illustration. It has been a great thrill to discover this dormant talent in her middle years and Katrine relishes the challenge of developing this talent and discovery where it will take her in the future. Katrine's love of learning and the medium of watercolour has prompted her to enroll in Noel Ford's watercolor course at the ANU Art School in 2007. Katrine has benefited greatly from attended master classes and workshops with many renowned Australian Botanical Artists such as Jenny Phillips, Bronwyn Van de Graff, Beverley Allen among others. Katrine is a member of the Botanical Art Society of Australis(BASA), the Wildlife and Botanical Artists ACT (WABA), The Artist's Society of Canberra (ASOC), the Sydney Royal Botanic Gardens and the National Botanic Gardens in Canberra.
