WABA Workshop - Colour Mixing and Matching, Dr Prue Sailer Sunday 21 August 20016

Dear WABA members,

You are invited to attend a Colour Mixing and Matching Workshop presented by Prue Sailer.

In this one-day workshop, the tutor, Dr Prue Sailer, will guide the students to explore the fundamental principles of seeing colour.  Students will then apply these principles to direct mixing and layering techniques, and to enable students to confidently match and mix colours more accurately.

Natural subject matter will be used in order to produce several studies in either watercolour or acrylic.

1.    Introduction: the science of colour 

2.    The 6 ‘primaries’: colour biases

3.    Seeing and identifying colours in your subject

4.    Mixing to create the colours you want

5.    Bringing it together: finished studies

Materials list:

Paint of your choice (acrylic, watercolour)

Watercolour paper/canvas paper suitable for acrylics

Drawing pencils, brushes, rags, water jars

Your choice of natural objects to use for studies:  plant, flower, shell, bark, etc.
