WABA is offering two one-day classes with experienced bird illustrator and tutor Lesley Wallington.
Each class will focus on a particular bird species common to the Canberra region. The day will begin with looking at the character and anatomy of the bird, pencil techniques, how to make quick sketches and transfer a drawing. There will be instruction in basic watercolour technique, colour mixing, light and shade, and transparent layering.
Students will gain an understanding of the physical aspects and character of the bird and the processes and techniques involved in working towards a finished painting.
Reference will be taken from photographs, either your own or supplied from my stock.
