WABA: Members' Annual Exhibition 'The Art of Nature 2014'

Dear WABA members,

Our WABA ‘Art of Nature 2014’ member’s annual exhibition is now officially open for entries! This year we will be holding our exhibition at the Hellenic Club of Canberra in Woden. This very popular community club has very kindly offered WABA the use of their exhibition gallery space. WABA’s  ‘Art of Nature 2014’ exhibition entry form with full details is attached here. Special thanks to Arlene Williams and Glenda Shelley for assistance with this. WABA will be donating a proportion of sales proceeds through the Hellenic Club community contribution program to a conservation organisation.

I have also attached a matrix with priority exhibition tasks here that need our urgent attention over the next six weeks. Please use this as a guide for timing and the types of activities associated with planning, set up and dismantling of the exhibition. You may also like to provide artist demonstrations at peak times for the Hellenic Club or assist with the exhibition roster for a couple of sessions.

For all members who are planning to participate, please let me know as soon as possible specifically which tasks you can assist with - so that we can get plans underway quickly. Gaps are highlighted in colour. Happy to discuss details with members individually – please contact either Glenda Shelley (or myself after work hours) with any questions. Many thanks to those few people who were able to come along to our planning meeting this week. It was an excellent discussion and lots of great ideas were considered. Thanks also to those who weren’t able to get there and have offered to assist. We need to share the workload among our members and make this a true team effort for a successful and lively exhibition.

Please send high resolution images of completed works that you are planning to enter to Judy Stevenson at stevos@grapevine.com.au   We need these for designing our flyers, media releases and other publicity and promotion of the exhibition. We would welcome a range of subject matter with as diverse a representation of flora and fauna as possible.

Hope to hear from everyone soon with:

-          high resolution images for exhibition promotion by Monday 20th October,

-          nominations for exhibition tasks by Wednesday 22nd October),

-          entry forms returned and entry fees paid by Monday 10th November.

Best wishes,

Julia
