Newsletter from Helen Fitzgerald

Helen Fitzgerald has just released her occasional news flicker for November 2013. Following are her features. For more information, click here.

Making watercolour paints from local ochres

As artists we have all gone into the art store and enjoyed buying lots of paints and materials. However, few artists consider making some of their own paints just as the palaeolithic artists did.  Australian aboriginal artists made their own ochre paints and applied them on bark and stone.

Helen’s 2014 teaching schedule

Helen for the first time in a decade won’t be teaching her two 5 day workshops in January. Helen lives in a rural area with an increased bushfire risk as our climate heats up. Instead, she will give these workshops later in the cooler part of 2014. There will be another Bird painting course in Autumn 2014. Her final 2014 teaching schedule will be published mid November.

 6-pack of Helen's Greeting Cards

During November subscribers to Helen's newsletter can purchase six (6) mixed greeting cards of Helen's paintings for the very special price of A$12 (including postage). A great idea for Christmas.
