Field Trip: National Arboretum Canberra, Friday 1 November, 10- 11.30am

WABA has organised a field trip to do a free guided tour of the Arboretum. A volunteer guide will show us around some of the forests, and talk about the trees, focusing on endangered species (both Australian natives and exotic species). Hopefully, many species will be in flower and/or leaf.

This is a great opportunity to learn about the plantings on site, plan artwork for WABA's exhibitions next year and/or some artwork for sale in the gift shop at the Arboretum (either original artwork, or prints/ cards/ bookmarks). It is also a great opportunity to catch up with other WABA members and enjoy the spectacular views over Canberra.

Following the tour, you may wish to walk/drive around the Arboretum to draw or paint some of the trees, so bring your preferred art materials with you. There is a cafe and a restaurant in the Village Centre, or you may prefer to bring your own lunch.

Date: Friday 1 November

Time: 10am- 11.30am

Meet: inside the main entrance of the Village Centre

Length of tour: 1.5 hours

Maximum participants: 15

Please RSVP by 9am Monday 28 October to Natalie Maras or Glenda Shelley
