Profile on Artist - Arlene Williams

Arlene Williams

Arlene Williams is a Canberra award-winning artist whose paintings hang in private local, interstate and overseas collections. A recent Bachelor of Visual Arts graduate of the ANU School of Art, Arlene has successfully exhibited for many years producing paintings in a variety of styles, media and subject matter.

A versatile artist, she is currently experimenting with visually powerful semi-abstract depictions of natural phenomena, and also producing both realistic and interpretative images of landforms, figures, architecture, still life and wildlife.

In portraying wildlife, Arlene aspires to transfer as much as possible of the colour, light and atmosphere of her subjects into paintings for the viewer to share. She particularly likes to paint water, and so the occasional waterbird painting will be exhibited alongside other paintings of Australian and exotic birds.
